Unlike his competitive nature, Mikkel recent award shows and other selfapplauding advertising hype, but have participated in various jurys and i.e. won a 'Stevie Award' in 2004 from American Business Awards for 'Best magazine campaign 2004' - headed by Donald Trump :-) - on behalf of the client Scientific Atlanta. Enthusiastic about his craftmanship and always eager to share knowledge and experiences, Mikkel has been teaching his skills to both fellow colleagues at Reklameskolen for 10 years (responsible for several courses), IAA and various companies' own clients on marketing and communication matters.

In his private life Mikkel is an enthusiastic racing yachtsman (World Championships and National Titles as skipper and helmsman among the merits) although the time spent on the water is somehow challenged by his many other obligations, such as being dad for Pelle Hvidbjørn (2000), Karen Aslaug (2002) and Viggo Saxbjørn (2005). In the wintertime you will find him exploring the steep and bumpy slopes of Scandinavia and the Alps, preferrebly St. Anton, Espace Killy or 3 Vallees, occasionally dropping with the AK Rockets from a Bell 407 helicopter in Canadas snowpacked backcountries.
